Blog 5: My Future Job

Throughout my life I have been interested in multiple professions, as a child I wanted to be famous and a singer, in fact I wrote a song of which I still remember the lyrics and melody. When I turned 10 years old, I wanted to study graphic design and occupational therapy, for the sole reason that the names sounded interesting. When I reached pre-adolescence I began to realize my greatest interest in the area of arts and humanities, and since then I knew that I would not have a conventional job.

Thus, as I grew older I realized that I really enjoyed writing and working with people, so in the last years I imagined myself working outdoors getting to know different social groups, but also writing about them or any topic I found interesting.

On the other hand, something that has always been clear to me is that I would like to be able to travel with my job, since I love to get to know new places, cultures and people. It is precisely for this reason, and many others, that I decided to study anthropology. This profession caught my attention, mainly because it is the study of cultures, but when I realized that it was a profession compatible with the idea of traveling I was very happy.

As an anthropologist I would like to dedicate myself to the social and cultural area of the profession and work doing ethnography and classes in different parts of the world. I would also like to combine anthropological work with art and literature, which I enjoy very much.
